Marshall Tractor
This Marshall Model M diesel tractor was purchased in 1941 by Mr William Arthur of Redwick House.
It was purchased from J.E.Howards who were then based in Bassaleg before their business moved to the Cattle Market in Newport. The tractor was delivered to Bassaleg from the factory where it was made in Gainsborough, Linconshire.
John Arthur remembers going with his father to see the tractor while it was still in the railway sidings before it had been unloaded. It still has its original Monmouthshire registration plate of FAX 187.
Later Mr Arthur sold the tractor to Mr Albert Packer from Undy. Mr Gaskin of Howick bought the tractor in 1981 and has restored it to its original condition.
